"Lest We Forget" Military Exhibit

The price of freedom is enfolded in the lives of men and women who gave up home and family that we might not be enslaved by oppression.  They served, fought, and died in fierce conflicts against overwhelming odds.

This exhibit will bring before your eyes the history and stories of those we are indebted to for that freedom.  From the Civil War story of Governor Upham and others, to Afghanistan, you will discover the willingness of our men to serve.

You will learn about Company A and the 2nd Regiment Band as they become part of the formation of the famed 32nd Division.  They would both be involved in tough battles in France during WWI.

You will be gripped by Pearl Harbor, the Bataan Death March, Iwo Jima, the battle for Buna in New Guinea, D-Day at Omaha Beach, paratroopers and gliders, and the Battle of the Bulge.  Battlefield dioramas and actual personal stories will make history come alive. Also being showcased is our Fallen Soldier Memorial.

Vietnam and Korea:  Horrible conditions, the enemy everywhere, -35 degree temperatures….Their stories are told.

Bringing history to date will be Desert Storm, Iraq and Afghanistan with artifacts making a superb display.  Women in the military, Aviation and the Navy all have their part.
